Originally founded in the early 20^th century as St. Michael's Parish, the parish in Scranton has borne the name Sacred Heart since 1928. The current church building was finished in 1971 and is home to the Catholic community in Scranton formed around the Eucharist and the infinite love of the Sacred Heart of Christ.
